In a world where hope intertwines with despair, Ebu Dikka stands as a testament to resilience. He eagerly awaits the day he can walk again, constantly battling the painful truth of his financial struggles. Most importantly, the October 7 attacks left a profound mark on his life, compelling him to seek urgent medical assistance. As he reminisces about the moment he fled his home in Beni Suheyla, the deafening sound of ambulances racing to save lives echoes in his mind. Undeniably, he was caught in the relentless bombardment from Israeli warplanes, witnessing his family’s home being reduced to rubble. Miraculously, he was rescued just 15 minutes later. What a harrowing experience to endure!

Transitioning from one hospital to another, Ebu Dikka eventually found himself in Turkey, where he received extensive treatment for a month. “During my treatment in Turkey, I began to feel my legs again,” he explained, clarity shining in his voice. Gradually, with the help of physical therapy upon returning to Gaza, he has started moving his toes. Yet, he cannot dismiss the haunting thought of potentially living with a disability. Reflecting on his recent marriage, he shares, “Just a year and a half ago, I never imagined facing this!” His plea for assistance resonates deeply: “Doctors have told me there are treatment options in Germany. I desperately need the help of those willing to contribute.” The October 7 attacks not only shattered lives but irreversibly altered futures, leaving many to pick up the pieces.
