Advisory Policy Council
The Advisory Policy Council will consist of 30-55 members, invited by the Steering Committee. The members will be chosen based on their history of engagement with the issues of Palestine and Israel, including alleged complicity of the Western liberal democracies. The role of the Advisory Policy Council is to:
- Offer strategic guidance on policy matters relevant to the Tribunal’s objectives;
- Suggest questions that should be addressed by the Tribunal;
- Advise on the proper approaches to collecting testimony that will be useful for both legal and public awareness purposes;
- Suggest jurists and moral authority figures to serve on the Tribunal, with appropriate attention to diversities of gender, geography, and ethnic identity;
- Advise on the proper format and purpose of the Tribunal at each of the two forthcoming formal gatherings;
- Assist in disseminating information about the Tribunal and its findings and conclusions.
Civil Society Organisations Council
The Civil Society Relations Council engages with non-governmental organizations (NGOs), community groups, and other civil society actors worldwide, particularly those based in or focusing on Palestine. It ensures that the Tribunal remains connected to the needs of the communities affected by its proceedings. A representative of this Council may serve on the Steering Committee, and its members may also serve in other Chambers.
Media Relations Unit
The Media Relations Unit shall consist of a group of leading media figures, responsible for supporting the Tribunal in maintaining effective relations with the media and guiding the media strategy and visibility of the Gaza Tribunal.
It shall facilitate interaction with journalists and media outlets to ensure accurate and responsible reporting on the Tribunal’s activities and findings, promoting transparency and global understanding. This Unit is responsible for developing media content to promote the work of the Tribunal on an ongoing basis and bring attention to its proceedings.
